Rechargeable and very effective compared to my old bark collar, and does more. You need the instructions to learn how to use it. But I would say it is easy to set up too.

It works so well that I bought a second collar for my other dog. Within a day of use the barking at the people walking on the street completely stopped. It doesnt seem to hurt the dog as it does just make.an uncomfortable shock or vibration.
